My Gen - The Green Festival Challenge

The photos below illustrate student competitors’ passion and their willingness to advocate for their futures.

In 2009, My Gen, Incorporated, a start-up 501(c)(3) nonprofit developed the Green Festival Challenge program (GFC). GFC was an innovative after-school educational program that combined environmental education, competition, and service learning for high school students. Structured like a sports program, six high school GFC teams competed with one another, not to move a ball down a field, but to educate festival attendees about specific actions they could take to make their communities more sustainable.
